Some Great Pre-odyssey Reads
Posted by odyssey2007 on April 16, 2007
Actually, this is good reading regardless of whether you plan to attend Digital Odyssey this year. Below are links to a couple of very relevant and timely articles.
The first is by Marshall Breeding, who due to a scheduling conflict was unable to present at Digital Odyssey this year. Marshall has an encyclopedic knowledge of the ILS industry, and presents an excellent overview of changes in the marketplace over the last year in his ‘An Industry Redefined’ article for Library Journal.

The second is by Dave Pattern from the University of Huddersfield. Dave recent conducted a survey of librarians’ opinions of their institution’s OPACs in preparation for a presentation he is doing at the Library and Information Show. Over 700 people responded from a variety of library types in many countries.

Enjoy the reading, and see you later this week at Digitla Odyssey.
